MEDIEVAL STREET MARKET AND FESTIVALDuring Christmas and New Year holidays, in Saint María’s Square there is the staging of an old market set in the Middle Ages with medieval arts displays, craft trades workshops and stalls where craftwork and traditional food are sold. The incomparable atmosphere of Peñíscola’s old quarter makes this one of the most spectacular markets in Spain.
LIVING NATIVITY SCENE
During Christmas and New Year festivities in the Parque de Artillería there is the traditional and popular mass performance of biblical passages that are characteristic of Christmas in a natural stage with the participation of many people, from children to elderly people of Peñíscola.
