The Playa del Russo is home to rare plants such as sea daffodils and sea spurge. It is amazing to think how they have adapted to sandy soils, the salinity, the low rainfall and the mighty winds.

It shares many features with Pebret Beach, owing to their proximity. Dune vegetation is known for housing a high number of animal species, many of them endemic (beetles, snails). Birds that are uncommon in our land, such as the Collared Pratincole (Glareola pratincola) and Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus) nest under the shelter of the sand dunes.
